No you dont need to login to the terminal unless of course you execute a command with ‘sudo’ which simply put is the root user and means you can write anywhere in the filesystem.

Do you need to login with your admin username/password to run terminal?
I haven’t used used Terminal since my Ubuntu days, ah the memories

The only thing people may have issues with is using the terminal. I use it all the time in work but when I ask some people to do something with it they look at me as if to say ‘WTF’!!!!

Nice post Chris.
I’ll give installing Ruby a go when I have a chance and I’ll let you know how Idiot proof your tutorial is
