I was disappointed with my MacBook Pro's compatibility with Ubuntu. Don't know about Feisty, but when I installed Edgy on it a few months ago, there were issues with both the wi-fi chipset and the sound in Linux on this particular 15" MBP. The advantage was that it forced me to try out OS X. This was a few months ago so hopefully things have improved since.

I have parallels running on my macbook pro aswell. I have had no issues running Windows XP and Vista. Alltho i killed vista because it was to slow for me.

Only thing that still doesnt work for me is installing an ubuntu virtual machine on the mac. I hope that the new parallels update is going to solve those issues so i can finally run ubuntu from my beloved mac aswell ;-)

I tried installing Parallels this evening and it wouldn't pick up on the XP CD in the drive. I converted the contents of the XP CD to a .iso image as well but that didn't work either.

I'll give Parallels another attempt soon.

Hmmm I'll give this one a go although I think I'll be more likely to just go with a dual boot for Ubuntu.

Hi James and thanks for dropping the post.
I have to get Parallels up an running on my Macbook. I have a dual boot with Vista on my iMac but it's of very little use to me. Parallels will make the switch effortless.

I'm going to get that 15 day trial and test it out this weekend.
Thanks for the heads up James. :)
